Career Opportunities:
Postgraduate Advanced Studies:
The undergraduate program of chemical and materials engineering at NUK is designed to prepare our graduates with the flexibility to pursue advanced graduate degrees both here in Taiwan and in abroad in the following diverse fields:
‧Chemical engineering and chemical sciences
‧Materials science and engineering
‧Nanotechnology
‧Polymer science and engineering
‧Biochemical and biomedical engineering
‧Optical electronics
‧Environmental engineering
‧Industrial engineering
‧MBA and engineering business management
‧Other related fields
Job and Career Opportunities:
Our curriculam will also prepare our graduates who choose to enter the job market right after their graduation.Chemical and materials engineering graduates are employed by almost every type of chemical process and high tech industry as well as research institution: they work in a variety of settings, such as R&D, design, process control, sales, economic analysis, teaching and management.
CME engineering work on petrochemicals, refining, specialty Chemicals, biotechnologies, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnologies, and information technologies, optical-electronics materials, metals and steel related industries, and environmental related products.
The average earning for chemical and materials engineering graduates is far more than that of liberal arts and business majors, and is also the highest paid group among all engineering and science graduates.A recent survey showed that the annul salary of a chemical engineering graduate can exceed one million NT dollars within five years of graduation.
Currently our department is strengthening its teaching and research laboratories with new equipments and modern instrumentations. These laboratories will allow us to better train our students to acquire the necessary experimental techniques and research capabilities.
At the same time, we are planning to establish two new graduate programs in nanotechnology and in chemical & materials engineering to offer both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. These programs are intended to provide the highly skilled engineers and researchers to meet the demand for talents in Taiwan for technological development.
New faculty members will be added next year to our program to support both teaching and research activities. For the foreseeablefuture, we will have one of best faculty body in the areas of chemical engineers and material sciences in the country.
